As winter settles in...

As winter deepens and the days feel short and dark, we wanted to gently check in with you and remind you that it’s completely normal to feel a little flatter, more tired, or less motivated at this time of year. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and seasonal low mood can affect many people, often showing up as low energy, changes in sleep or appetite, brain fog, or a sense of heaviness that’s hard to shake — and it’s not a personal failing, it’s your nervous system responding to reduced light and seasonal change.

Small, supportive steps can make a real difference, such as getting outside in daylight whenever possible, supporting your body with nourishing food, gentle movement, and rest, and reaching out for connection rather than withdrawing. At The Heart of Holistic Health, we see this time of year as an invitation to soften expectations, listen more closely to your body, and seek support when you need it. You don’t have to push through winter alone, and you don’t need to have all the answers right now; sometimes simply understanding what’s going on and knowing support is available is the most powerful first step.

Sending warmth, care, and reassurance from all of us at The Heart of Holistic Health 💙
