I have always been interested in sport, physical activities, health and travelling. I played rugby for SRFC for 20 years and have hiked and backpacked extensively in Britain, South America and the Himalayas.

Shiatsu Practitioner

Mick Moxham

When I returned from travelling I initially trained in therapeutic massage at the London College of Massage graduating in 2007, then subsequently studied at the British School of Shiatsu-Do receiving my Shiatsu Practitioner Diploma in 2012 after 3 years of training.

As with most Eastern disciplines Shiatsu recognises there is no separation between the mind and the body in treatment and diagnosis. The traditional techniques of balancing the energy in the meridians that flow along the body, acupressure and ampuku (Japanese stomach massage) are directly related to treatment of the person as a whole. This integration of mind, body and spirit has subsequently guided all my further training especially that of Shin Tai, which is a development of Shiatsu pioneered by Saul Goodman, alongside the more advanced soft tissue skills I gained in obtaining my STT Diploma with the LSSM.

I am a Senior member of The Shiatsu Society and have been a registered practitioner with the Society since 2013. As a member I am fully insured and adhere to their Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics and registered with the CNHC. I am also a member of the ISRM, on their register of therapists and fully insured for remedial soft tissue techniques.
