Shiatsu
Traditional Japanese acupressure therapy.
Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves the application of gentle pressure, stretches and joint mobilisation techniques to support the flow of energy (Qi) throughout the body.
Treatments are carried out fully clothed on a padded mat or table, using thumbs, palms and sometimes elbows or knees to apply rhythmic pressure along specific meridians. The aim is to restore balance, relieve tension, and promote the body’s natural healing responses.
Shiatsu may support a wide range of physical and emotional concerns including stress, anxiety, digestive discomfort, fatigue, muscular pain, and hormonal imbalance. It is suitable for people of all ages and is often used as part of a preventative or restorative health plan.
Each session is tailored to the individual, taking into account both physical symptoms and underlying energetic patterns.
