Reiki Level One, known as Shoden, is a beautiful introduction to the practice of Reiki.
It’s where you learn to connect with the energy that flows through all life — awakening your own natural ability to bring balance, calm, and healing to yourself and those around you.

This gentle two-day course is a personal and nurturing experience. You’ll explore the origins of Reiki, rooted in the Usui tradition, and learn simple yet powerful self-healing techniques that support your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

Together, we’ll practise how to offer Reiki to yourself, to family and friends, and even to pets — using easy, hands-on methods that feel natural and peaceful. You’ll receive your Level One attunements (empowerments), take part in guided meditations, and begin to recognise the subtle movement of energy within and around you.

Classes are small and held in a calm, supportive setting, allowing time for reflection, discussion, and practice. The pace is gentle, and the experience is often deeply moving — a chance to reconnect with yourself on every level.

About the Course

You’ll receive a full course manual and printed materials to keep, a Radiant Reiki Level One Certificate on completion, and ongoing support through Reiki shares and our Reiki community.

All teaching takes place at The Heart of Holistic Health, a peaceful clinic and professional training school in Ongar, Essex.

This course is suitable for complete beginners and those drawn to Reiki as a path of personal healing and self-discovery.

About Jenni

I’m Jenni Shawyer, Reiki Master Teacher and founder of Radiant Reiki.
I began my Reiki journey in 2007, and my approach is gentle, grounded, and true to the original Usui system of natural healing.

I’m a registered and insured Reiki Master Teacher (UK Reiki Federation Member Teacher, The Jikiden Reiki Association Practitioner Member, and Balens Insurance) with a lineage tracing directly back to Mikao Usui.

 

My teaching style is simple and heartfelt. I hold space with care, allowing each student to feel supported and confident as they connect with Reiki in their own way.
